EYFS

Week beginning 22/04/2025

Something truly magical happened in our classroom this week! We discovered a special video… of a fairy dancing! The children watched in amazement as the tiny fairy twirled and floated gracefully in front of the fairy door.

This sparked our imaginations—what does the world behind the fairy door look like? Each child created their own drawing, imagining what the fairy’s home might be like. Some pictured twinkling fairy lights and flower-filled gardens, while others imagined tiny furniture and shimmering waterfalls.

Worship theme of the week:

Responsibility

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for me

Curriculum this week:

Please note that our curriculum overview for this term is at the bottom of the page.

  • Phonics: We will be recapping the sounds we have learnt so far.

  • Literacy: We will be writing a recount about what we did in our half term break.

  • Maths:  We will discuss and practise strategies for counting larger amounts that cannot be moved.

  • Topic: We will be looking at the RNLI as part of our 'People who help us' topic.

Word of the week:

Our Word of the Week for this week is 'hygiene'. Please explore the word's meaning at home with your child.

Homework:

Please note that this term's project homework is at the bottom of this page.

Reading:

We would love to see the children in EYFS using their extra time at home to read some brilliant books. If children read three times at home, they get a raffle ticket. Please, therefore, keep a quick record in reading logs – your children can write the title in to help! We would also like to encourage children to bring their reading records into school every day.

Coming up:

  • First Day of Summer term 1- Tuesday 22nd April

Many thanks for all of your support,

Miss Daw & Miss Wingate
