National Fitness Day - 24th September 2025
We celebrated National Fitness Day at school on Wednesday 24th September to remind ourselves why it is important to keep ourselves active!
We started our day at school with a Wake and Shake by Miss Lunn, which was enjoyed by both children and adults!
Teachers were encouraged to keep their lessons as active as possible and also provide the children with lots of opportunities for movement breaks!
Throughout the day a competition was held between each year group, in which an adult per year group was given a pedometer to do the most amount of steps! The winning year group would receive an extra break and the winning adult would also get a little prize! It's safe to say there was a clear competition after seeing teachers getting their children to run laps around the playground with them! At the end of the day the results were in:
7th with 4625 steps = Early Years
6th with 6468 steps = Year 2
5th with 6771 steps= Year 1
4th with 8533 steps= Year 5
3rd with 15,561 steps = Year 6
2nd with 16,277 steps = Year 3
1st with 21,730 steps = Year 4
A big well done to all the adults that took part during the competition, the children definitely loved encouraging their year group adult to keep walking!
